Founded in 1983 by inventor and pitmaster John Willingham — American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame Legacy Inductee — Willingham's World Champion BBQ has earned 5 World Grand Championships and 24 World Category wins across Memphis in May and the American Royal. Now owned and operated by Pitmaster Paul Holden, who competed alongside John from 1990 until John's passing in 2013.
