November Membership Sale
Anyone who knows me knows of my fondness of the National BBQ & Grilling Association. At competitions I do my best to steer a conversation to our association so I can inquire about memberships. I was once in line at an ice cream shop in my hometown when I noticed by the logo on the shirt of the guy behind me, he was a BBQ guy. He owned his own catering business and was well known in the area for his contribution to first responders. As we spoke, I asked him if he was a member of the NBBQA and much to my surprise, he was not. He also hadn’t really heard of it, but that is an article for another time.
As I travel the country speaking and competing, I meet tons of live fire cooks, from other competitors to restauranteurs to backyard grillers. But I’m astounded by the amount of them who aren’t members of the NBBQA for various reasons. If you are reading this, you may very well fall into that category of non-membership. So, for the month of November we have come up with a sale with you in mind. Below you will see three types of memberships – Emerging Professional, Professional and Business. Each will have a brief description to help you see where you would fit best. I look forward to welcoming you into our NBBQA family.
Emerging Professional Membership is an individual membership targeted at the BBQ enthusiast, social pitmaster, or back yard cook who has a passion for barbecue and considering turning this passion into an income in the future. This may be displayed though competition barbecue, strong social media presence, or aspirations to one day take their BBQ to the next level.
This NBBQA membership will help you during this transition through access to industry information and leaders who can help you through the process of starting your own barbecue related business.

Annual Dues are usually $99/year but for the month of November it is only $75 to join
Professional Membership is targeted at individuals in the barbecue industry. This may be the owner, employer, contractor, or entrepreneur of a BBQ restaurant, distributor, product manufacture, shop, ambassador, or media business. Typically, your BBQ involvement accounts for a component of your financial income.
This NBBQA membership will help you build your professional knowledge and industry skills in the barbecue sector. This is accomplished through networking, access to industry information, peer developed education, BBQ business-related publications and similar.
Member Benefits:
SIG Membership – Up to four of choices
(each includes quarterly newsletter, access to article archive, and attendance at SIG sessions)

Annual Dues for this is $175 per year however, for a limited time only in the month of November it’s just $140 to join!
Business Membership is targeted at small and medium size businesses operating in or around the Barbecue industry, such as a BBQ restaurant, distributor, product manufacture, shop, media business, or similar.
This NBBQA membership will help your business grow through networking, access to industry information, peer developed education, and similar. Opportunities also exist to target the BBQ community through NBBQA public targeted events and publications.
